Knowledge Bite - Productivity
Just some apps I believe could help you stay focused with your goals + a bit about managing your time ; )
Hey y’all,
I’m introducing something new in this rainy month of April — Knowledge Bites! Knowledge Bites are relatively small posts expanding on topics I discussed. I haven’t fully planned out the schedule 😅 , but I’m thinking that you’ll get one Knowledge Bite every month.
Anyway, this month I want to talk about some ✨ productivity apps ✨ that should help you with staying committed to your system (+ goal).
Now, let’s start!
1) 🔍️ What is Productivity?
Everyone has a different interpretation of productivity, so let’s identify which interpretation will fuel pure growth. There are two main parts to productivity: output or efficiency (the quantity), and quality (notice how I bolded and colored each word — this will be important to understand their meanings).
Quantitative productivity refers to how much you accomplish in a set amount of time; think of it as a function — an input leading to an output. As students, this is the productivity that comes to mind. We’ve been taught that “Smart” students accomplish more in less time.
Qualitative productivity refers to the quality of the product worked upon. Input is not essential to this type of productivity; only the output is valued.
1a) 🌟 Productivity Advice🌟
Let’s be real — most people won’t see the effort, only the end result. So, with both types of productivity in mind, you want to balance out how much effort you put into something with the quality of the product. Depending on your work (the level of its importance), change the quality! Identify how much work you need to put into something. How much time will it take? How much effort should you put in? You don’t need to go above and beyond for everything — that’s another recipe for burnout.
